The Canada Bodhi Dharma Society held its first “Meditation and Health Seminar” at its new location, the Puti Yoga Studio in Richmond, on May 13th, 2006. Organizers invited the College’s president, Master JinPuti, to open the series.
The seminar ran from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM Saturday morning, starting with a documentary, featuring people who have benefited from Puti Meditation. Master JinBodhi then gave a speech focusing on how and why meditation improves health. He closed with a meditative exercise, so that participants could personally enjoy a meditative experience.
Speakers highlighted the large number of people who have benefited from Puti Meditation, overcoming chronic illness and improving general health. Notably, cases of recovery were presented in which individuals felt defeated, seeking conventional treatment, but found relief with Puti training.
One Puti Meditation practitioner present, Jane, stated: “I had highly aggravated tendonitis. Meditation helped me with the extreme pain in my wrist.”
Grace, another practitioner, said, “I worked at a senior center for long time. I often had to carry residents from bed to bed—I developed a herniated spinal disc. My condition only started to improve after I started practicing Puti Meditation.”
Approximately one hundred people attended this event. The next session in the series is scheduled for Sunday, June 4th.
